Remembering the sweetest, most handsome, and most charming brother ever!

Jim entered into eternal life 2-13-1972. He was survived by his wife Margaret (now deceased) and their 5-year-old son Brian. Six months prior to his passing, he had been briefly ill with something ordinary and had a respiratory arrest, then lapsed into a coma and never recovered. He was 27. At the time of his passing, Jim resided in Riverside and was a salesman at UARCO.

I think Jim is best remembered by his quick sense of humor, and his willingness to help others. He loved joking around and our home movies attest to his "silly" side.

Jim enjoyed working with his hands--he could fix anything. He loved tinkering with cars. At one time there was a long succession of friends' cars in our garage, being converted from automatic to stick shift transmission. Jim's own first car was a '53 Merc, purchased with savings from a paper route and bussing tables at the Kettle restaurant. He had the car custom-painted "Foremost milk carton orange."

Having spent most of our childhood in Hawai'i, Jim loved swimming. He was an accomplished skater and we spent many happy hours at the Skate Ranch in Santa Ana. Our family returned to the mainland just in time to enroll at Brookhurst Junior High. Jim and I were less than a year apart with our birthdays only 4 days apart. We were in the same grade, had many of the same friends, and often combined our birthday celebrations. Some people thought we were twins.

Jim had been very active in the Order of DeMolay, Anaheim chapter, and had become a Master Mason. I am very proud to say Jim enlisted in the US Navy right after graduation. He served 6 years, mostly at Los Alamitos Air Station, and attained the rating of AMS3.

Many Savanna classmates attended Jim's services and the celebration of his life at Fairhaven Memorial Park. Our time with Jim was short. The sharing of special memories is so important to healing. I am so honored and proud to have been Jim's little sister! Memories of him bave become more precious with the passing of time. Those who remember Jim are encouaged to share their memories here.

I know I will see him again!

Loved Jim and his flathead Merc.  Remember attending his funeral service with my Mom, and seeing his great sister.  Fond memories of Demolay, Jobies, and friendship.  RIP buddy.
